Disclaimer: Smart does not guarantee its eSIM compatibility with any of the devices listed above, since compatibility may vary based on device region and network unlock status.

The eSIM does not have a definitive active duration; this is dependent on the type of service the user is utilizing and their activity patterns. Our system will automatically deactivate your eSIM phone number after 60 days of inactivity. If you are using a temporary service like the Tourist SIM, it will deactivate in the allotted time.

If you have installed an eSIM on a device, you can't install the same eSIM (use the same QR code) into another phone unless you delete the profile from the current device. If you require a new eSIM for another device, please visit your nearest Smart showroom.

Yes. Please visit your nearest Smart showroom to request and activate eSIM.

Yes, international roaming with an eSIM works the same as roaming with a physical SIM.

The number of downloadable eSIMs depends on the device you are using. Within your device, refer to your device settings and online community center for more information on your device's eSIM compatibility.

A SIM card is a physical chip that is inserted into your phone. An eSIM is an embedded SIM card placed into your phone’s internal components. It operates on the same networks as regular SIM cards, therefore, there is minimal difference in functionality or usage of the service. The activation process is the primary difference between both technologies. With eSIM, switching numbers is easier and faster since there is no need to physically change SIM cards; it is all done digitally.

The status of your eSIM after a phone reset will vary based on the type of reset conducted and your phone model. Typically for soft resets, the eSIM will remain on the phone unaffected by the reset. However, a factory reset may delete your eSIM from the device and require you to reinstall the eSIM using your eSIM QR Code.

Yes, to change your existing eSIM phone number you will be required to delete your existing eSIM and install a new eSIM. The number change process for eSIM can be done at your nearest Smart Showroom.

Some phones may support 2 Smart eSIMs simultaneously, however, this varies by phone model, region, and unlock status of the device. Depending on device model eSIM compatibility: o Androids: most older Android models support only one eSIM (no physical while eSIM is active) or 2 Dual physical SIM only. o Androids: some 2023 models are starting to support dual SIM - 2 dual Physical or 1 physical SIM along with one eSIM but not dual eSIM. o iPhones: Depending on the region of your phone, it may support 1 physical SIM along with one eSIM, newer iPhone models from regions that support eSIM, will support dual eSIM.

eSIM is programmed to the phone number requested by the customer; this can be an existing customer phone number or a new phone number. New prepaid customers qualify for our starter package, which includes a 3-day bundle with calling minutes, data, and SMS.

This varies by phone model, but all installations require your eSIM QR Code (or manual eSIM details). You can typically add eSIM in your device settings under network or cellular settings. If your device is eSIM compatible, within the network or cellular settings, there should be an option to ‘Add eSIM’ (in some cases it can be called ‘Add Digital SIM’). Once this option is selected, you can then proceed to scan the QR Code and add your eSIM. For assistance with installing your Smart eSIM, please visit the nearest showroom.

There is no limit on how many times an eSIM can be reinstalled (activated). However, the eSIM must be deleted from its current device before it can be installed on another device. Therefore, to reuse your eSIM, you must ensure the eSIM is in a deleted state before installing on another device.
